This Sunday’s Arab League summit in Beirut will help boost member states' economies, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said at the closing session.

"There is no doubt that [today’s] decisions will advance our pan-Arabic cooperation and will be seen as a step forward in developing the Arab region's economy, which will be felt by our states and people," he said.

The summit in the Lebanese capital was held in the absence of most Arab League leaders. Only the president of Mauritania and the Qatari emir agreed to attend.

A broad range of issues was discussed, including unemployment, women’s rights, support to refugees and their return to home countries, and a $200 million fund to invest in digital economy projects.
